UQ on Tour | supporting the future of our industry
Furthering our commitment to the industry’s future, the team at Kennedy’s recently welcomed 130 students from The University of Queensland onsite for an extensive tour of our award winning production facility.
Accompanied by their lecturers and tutors, the cohort of first year architecture students were given the opportunity to learn more about the vast potential of recycled timber and its carbon benefits.
Witnessing firsthand the processes involved in transforming recycled timber into a wide range of adaptable and eco friendly building products, the educational visit, now in its third year, has become a highlight on the Kennedy’s calendar.

Following the tour and outdoor forum, Kennedy’s concluded the day with a BBQ, hosted by General Manager and self appointed masterchef, Michael Kennedy.
Kennedy’s Timbers is proud to support such educational experiences for future generations of industry talent.

Donated by Kennedy’s Timbers, the large rustic piece of recycled Spotted Gum (pictured on table) played a starring role in the mid year performance.
The team at Kennedy’s are proud to support a number of not for profit projects throughout the country.
With more than 30 different profiles and sizes available, Kennedy’s offer the ideal timber product for any decking application.
When renowned architect Stuart Burgess required durable feature timber, in particularly long lengths for a residential project within a short time frame, Kennedy’s Timbers were his first call.
The result is the product of an inherent, silver grey patina stemming from the natural timber ageing process.
