GREEN STAR TIMBER

Launched in 2002 the Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA) is a national, not for profit organisation committed to developing a sustainable property industry by encouraging the adoption of green building practices.

The GBCA Green Certification program recognises projects that achieve leadership in environmental building design and construction.

Kennedy’s are proud members of the Council. Our architectural timbers have contributed to several projects that have been awarded Green Certification.

These include:

• Queensland Government Emergency Services Building Kedron (under construction)
• Old Government House Brisbane
• Old Parliament House Canberra
• Energex Building Brisbane (under construction)
• Telstra One Headquarters Brisbane
• Leighton Headquarters Brisbane (under construction)
• Gallery of Modern Art Brisbane and the Argyle Stores at The Rocks, Sydney

Timbers supplied to many of these projects have been assessed by an independent third party, from point of origin through to delivery. Supporting green building practices is a core value of Kennedy’s.
